ISLAMABAD: Prime Minster Syed Yousuf Raza Gilan has sacked the Secretary of Defence Lt-Gen Naeem Khalid Lodhi (retd), Geo News reported. Lodhi had assumed the charge on Nov. 28, 2011.

The reason for his sacking being given is misconduct and that he took unlawful steps.

Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi will assume the additional responsibilities of the Defence Secretary.
